Power supply hit in Rajouri for over 6 hrs

RAJOURI, May 27: The power supply remained affected in Rajouri town and the entire district for over six hours on the occasion of Eid festival.
Reports said that power supply was snapped at around 3 pm in Rajouri town and it was restored at around 9 pm on Wednesday. The people had to face tough time during the suspension of power supply as it was severe hot today. Not only in Rajouri town, the power also remained snapped in the areas like- Kalakote, Nowshera, Sunderbani, Darhal, Manjakote, Thannamandi, Kotranka, Khawas, Doongi and Budhal.
A senior PDD official said that due to some fault in 220 KV Salal-Kishanpur line, the power supply to entire Rajouri district remained affected for more than five hours. It also hit supply position at Gladini Grid Station, leading to power outages in some more areas for few hours. However, the power was restored to all these areas during late evening today, he added.
The people, however, alleged that Government has failed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the public on the occasion of Eid festival today.
