DODA, Apr 22: Police here today arrested a man from Bhaderwah for illicit poppy cultivation. The cops also destroyed the illegal crop.
Acting on reliable information that one Sher Din, son of Taj Din, resident of village Jamo Shiva, was involved in illegal cultivation of poppy plants in his agricultural land, cops led by In-Charge Police Post Bhalla along with Executive Magistrate 1st Class Doda and the concerned Patwari conducted a raid and detected illegal poppy cultivation.
The entire illicit cultivation was uprooted and destroyed in accordance with legal procedures and the accused was arrested.
A case in this regard was registered in FIR number 56/2026 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation started.
