JAMMU, Apr 22: The Kashmiri Sewak Samaj (KSS) organized an award ceremony to honour distinguished members of the community for their outstanding contributions across various fields. The event, featuring the Maa Sharika Samman, was held at J. N. Kaul Hall, Sharika Bhawan, Faridabad, Haryana.
The function was graced by Vipul Goel, Cabinet Minister, Government of Haryana, as the chief guest. The guests of honour included Ashok Kaul, BJP general secretary (J&K UT), and Padmashri Prof.M. L. Madan.
Dr Sushil Razdan, renowned Neurologist, Dr Ashok Dhar, Orthopaedic surgeon, Aditya Raj Kaul well known Journalist, Aditya Dhar renowned Film Director, Dr Chaman Lal Raina, Prof Bhushan Lal Jalali, , Dr Ameeta Mulla Wattal, Sushil Pandit, Ankur Warikoo, Dr Usha Khair, Shivani Kaul Bhat, Vikram Kaul, Ajay Pandita, Rohit Dhar (Dass), Roshan Lal Peer, Miss Disha Pandith, Bharat Bhushan Bhat, Trilok Kaul (posthumous), Triloki Nath Tikoo (posthumous), Prof Bharat Bhushan Chattoo (posthumous), Sharika Foundation and Charitable Trust Jammu and Padmashri, Prof R N Bamzai were honoured.
The Sharika Foundation and Charitable Trust was also recognized for its contributions additionally, Prof Anand Ranganathan, noted for his vocal advocacy of the Kashmiri Hindu cause, was honoured for his efforts.
The president of KSS, Padmashri, Prof Sudhir Sopory, delivered the keynote address. He welcoming the guests and awardees and presented a brief overview of the organization’s activities during 2025-2026.
Vice president KSS, Kashi Akhoon, highlighted the origin of the Maa Sharika Samman, instituted in 2003, and elaborated on the objectives and the selection process of the awardees.
In their addresses, guests of honour Ashok Kaul and Prof M. L. Madan congratulated KSS for its continuous efforts in strengthening community bonds and organizing such a grand event.
Prof. Anand Ranganathan, Prof. Bhushan Lal Jalali, and Ajay Pandita also addressed the gathering and extended their best wishes for the welfare and prosperity of the community.
The event was smoothly managed by Amal Magazine, joint secretary.
The programme was moderated by Subash Premi and Umakant Kachroo, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Vinod Dhar, general secretary.
