JAMMU, Apr 22: To review the performance of Prosecution Department, a meeting was held here today at the Court Complex Janipur.
The meeting was held in the presence of Rajesh Gill, deputy Director Jammu, Sunita Kargotra, Director Prosecution Jammu province.
Kargotra directed district Jammu prosecutors to file detailed objections in bail matters, especially under the NDPS Act, vigorously oppose medical bail pleas on false grounds, present complete criminal histories of habitual offenders before courts and ensure proper coordination with Police Investigating Officers and witnesses for effective prosecution.
She further emphasized the need to work as a cohesive unit, face challenges with dedication, honesty and transparency, support one another to improve overall performance, uphold the highest standards of professional integrity in court proceedings and ensure timely as well as quality disposal of cases.
Rajesh Gill apprised the Director Prosecution about the working and performance of Jammu Prosecutors for the first quarter of the year, from January to April 2026, particularly regarding convictions and rejection of bail applications.
He further informed that two bail applications were rejected today by the POCSO Court Jammu under Presiding Officer Amarjeet Singh Langey and one by the Excise Court Jammu under Brij Raj Singh.
Gill also apprised the Director Prosecution that Jammu Prosecutors are performing commendably in other day-to-day court proceedings in a highly professional manner, which deserves appreciation and salutation despite heavy workload in courts and limited manpower.
