3 arrested for circulating rumours

SRINAGAR, Apr 16: In a decisive move to curb the spread of misinformation, Sopore Police today arrested three persons for allegedly circulating rumours and misleading content on social media platforms, posing a serious threat to public order.
A Police spokesperson in a statement issued here said that an FIR (No. 93/2026) was registered at Police Station Sopore against individuals involved in spreading rumours through various social media platforms.
Acting swiftly, Sopore Police identified and apprehended the involved persons. “Further investigation into the matter is underway.”
Sopore Police strongly advise the general public to refrain from creating, sharing or amplifying unverified content on social media, as such actions may attract strict legal consequences.
