Leopard triggers panic in villages

UDHAMPUR, Aug 11: Presence of a leopard has triggered panic in five villages of block Chenani and Pancheri in Udhampur district.
The leopard has attacked may time the domestic animals of the people in villages Ladha, Nagulta, Panjar, Ladda and Basnote etc.
According to a Basnote villager Tilak Raj, leopard attacked his animals last evening and killed a cow calf while a buffalo calf of village Panjar’s Gandharab Singh was also mauled.
At village Ladha and Nagulta, goats and lambs of Bishan Singh and Hans Raj were killed by the leopard.
The panic stuck villagers have appealed the Administration and Wildlife Department to immediately capture the leopard, which has posed danger to their life.
