Youth stabbed, 4 arrested

JAMMU, July 14: A youth was stabbed in Nanak Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar police station. However, acting swiftly, police arrested all the four accused involved in the crime from Bakshi Nagar.
As per police sources, a youth namely Jasanjot Singh of Nanak Nagar had an altercation with Pravleen Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Jagpreet Singh, all residents of Nanak Nagar and Sahil Mehra of Sanjay Nagar over some old dispute.
In a fit of rage, Pravleen Singh attacked Jasanjot Singh with sharp edged weapon and later all the accused managed to escape from the spot.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he was undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
Meanwhile, acting swiftly, all the four accused were arrested from Bakshi Nagar by Gandhi Nagar police and sharp-edged weapon was also recovered from their possession.
A case under FIR number 141/14 under Section 307 and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team headed by SHO Manzoor Ahmed Kohli and assisted by SI Devinder Singh and SI Sohit Trikha made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
