JAMMU, July 8: The Jammu Development Authority (JDA), in coordination with the District Administration, today carried out a demolition drive in the Bishnah area to stop the development of unauthorised colonies along the Ring Road.
During the drive, several illegally constructed plinths were removed for violating the Jammu Master Plan and Unified Building Bye Laws 2021.
Officials said the structures were developed without the required Change of Land Use (CLU) permission or layout approvals.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, and JDA Vice Chairman, Rupesh Kumar, in presence of Tehsildar JDA Zone CD, Megha Gupta.
“Such illegal colonies pose a threat to planned urban growth and can mislead people into buying properties that have no legal standing,” officials said.
They said strict action will continue to prevent the rise of unplanned colonies and warned the public against investing in plots without proper verification.
Meanwhile, people have been advised to check the legal status of any land or property before making purchases to avoid financial loss.
