Karra, Mir, Bhalla pay homage to martyr Sunil; visit family of Thapa

JAMMU, May 15: JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra along with AICC general secretary and CLP leader G A Mir, working president Raman Bhalla, AICC secretary Neeraj Kundan, MLA Iftikhar Ahmed, DDC TS Tony, and others today visited the residence of Dr RK Thapa to offer condolences and also the border village Trewa in Arnia and paid homage to martyr Sunil Kumar besides meeting border people.
The Congress leaders offered condolences to the family of martyr, Dr Thapa and termed it a great loss to the society. His dedication and people friendly approach is highly appreciated by the people. He sacrificed his life while on duty for the nation. They shared the grief of the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
JKPCC chief told the family that Congress Party has demanded the honour of martyr for all those who died for the nation in the armed conflict between two countries.
Later, they visited village Trewa in Arnia to pay homage to the martyred Sunil Kumar who lost life in RS Pura serving in Armed Force. They shared the grief of the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
They also interacted with the border people in the area and listened to their hardships being becoming soft target of Pakistan shelling.
Karra said that the people near border are the worst sufferers of Indo – Pakistan tension and have suffered huge loss from two three generations during past 75 years.
Knowingly that it can’t fight a war with the powerful India, Pakistan targets civilian population on borders and LoC. Despite its division in 1971 war, it has not learnt lesson and is not behaving.
A rogue state Pakistan, which has become breeding ground for terrorism, is being isolated and stopped financial aid two-day prior to armed conflict with India, despite Pahalgam carnage, it was granted huge financial support by IMF.
The senior leaders supported the demand for fully equipped bunkers in entire border areas, as the new war techniques and modern weaponry is a great threat to the civilian population in most areas of border districts.
