RAMBAN, Dec 30: Cyber Cell of Police here today traced, recovered and handed over 20 smart phones to their owners.
Sources informed that Cyber Cell received various complaints about missing mobile phones and after hectic efforts the cops traced and recovered 20 lost mobile phones amounting to Rs. 5 lakh (approx).
Apart from this Rs 6 lakh (approx) swindled in various financial frauds was also recovered and refunded to the victims of online fraud cases.
SSP Ramban, Kulbir Singh handed over the recovered mobile phones to their legitimate owners at District Police Office Ramban on Monday evening.
He appealed to the general public to take utmost care of their mobiles as they contain personal data and there is a possibility of misuse.
SSP Ramban has reiterated his appeal to the general public for remaining extra vigilant and to report promptly to National Helpline number 1930 or lodge cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and in case of lost/stolen mobile phone report on www.ceir.gov.in.
