Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘HC asks PSC Health Deptt to end adhocism’ DE April 17.
Adhocism is prevalent in almost all departments of the State. In other words it can be said that adhocism has become a norm now.
Adhoc culture has vitiated the working of departments. Those appointed on adhoc basis do not work sincerely as they know their uncertain future. They just pass time and earn some monetary benefits from it. The Government on the other hand allows this culture to flourish on the pretext that the show goes on even with the adhoc employees. Though adhocism may not affect the working of some departments but it certainly may affect Health Department which faces acute shortage of doctors and para medical staff right now.
In rural areas, though there are PHCS, there are no doctors. People rush to urban centres to seek medicare. To avoid such a situation, the Health Department should appoint doctors and other required on permanent basis.
Yours etc….
