BJP, PDP thriving on politics of divide and rule: Saroori

KISHTWAR, Apr 13: Alleging that the parties like BJP and PDP are thriving on the politics of divide and rule and want to create wedge between various sections of the society for party politics and vote bank gains, senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, today cautioned the people against such tactics and impressed upon them to vehemently reject the hate politics and nurture mutual brotherhood, amity and togetherness for which National Conference and Congress have always strived.
Addressing largely attended meetings at remote and hilly villages including Bunjwah Patshallah, Kewa, Noor, Jalapur, Patnazi, Chikroon, Binoon, Nali, Toaib Abad, Behandwah, Mori, Golu Top and Balgran area of Inderwal Assembly segments of the district, Saroori sought support for Congress candidate from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda seat, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
To garner support for party candidate, he said restoration of peace, construction of thousands of bridges, roads, schools, colleges, universities and other developmental schemes besides enactment of historic legislations to empower people and ensure transparency in all fields of administration by the State Coalition Government “has been possible with the financial and logistic support by the Congress-led UPA Government.
Saying that there is hardly any leader of his stature in the State, the MLA appealed the people to support Ghulam Nabi Azad for Kathua-Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency so that he may continue to play his role in the national politics and help the State for its development stride.
Elaborating the achievements of Ghulam Nabi Azad, he said that the decision of opening of five new Medical Colleges in the State is the greatest contribution of Azad. Moreover, people of State should not forget the creation of new districts including Kishtwar, while Azad was the Chief Minister of the State, he added.
