JAMMU, Jan 16: A deputation of Jammu and Kashmir Jat Welfare Federation (JKJWF) called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here today and discussed various matters pertaining to the welfare of Jat community.
The deputation led by its President Choudhary Wali Dar requested the Chief Minister for taking up the issue of declaring OBC category to Jat community as has been done in some States reported by them. They also requested for special package for economic and social welfare of the members of Jat community comprising a large chunk of the population.
Among others Sarpanchs Chotay Ram, Choudhary Sukhdev Singh, Ajit Choudhary, Cap. Jia Lal and Binu Choudhary were part of the deputation.
