Saroori kick starts work on two link roads

PHIGSOO (THATHRI), Jan 12: Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori kick started work on two important link roads- Thathri to Cheera and Khara to Chanyas under the PMGSY scheme.
The roads having length of about 14 and 13kms, would be completed at a cost of 1,445.0 lakh and 1315.0 lakh respectively. A population of about 6,000 will be benefited with the construction of these roads.
Addressing a well attended public gathering on the occasion, Saroori said that on completion of this prestigious project a vast population of the area would be benefited.
He asked the Tehsildar Thathri and Executive Engineer PMGSY Thathri to monitor the ongoing PMGSY projects and ensure that the works are completed well on time.
He said that only Congress Government was committed to provide all basic amenities like health care, road connectivity to far flung areas, upgradation of schools, recruitment of staffs to various Government schools and other basic necessities.
On the occasion, people of the area projected various demands which included Sub-Division for Thathri, Tehsil status to Phigsoo, Nayabat for Premnagar, up-gradation of schools, building for Government Degree College Thathri, lift irrigation schemes, installation of hand pump, adequate drinking water facilities, uninterrupted electricity and employment to locals in Power projects.
Saroori also announced Rs 1 lakh from his CDF for library and equipments for Higher Secondary School Jangalwar.
Later Saroori chaired Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) meeting and reviewed the progress achieved on the decisions taken in the previous meeting beside approved the proposed work under RKS CHC/PHC/AD for the current financial year.
