JAMMU, Dec 5: Jammu Police has claimed to have solved three theft cases by arresting the thieves and recovering stolen items on their disclosure.
Acting on the two complaints of theft of tyres, one occurred at Shama Chak and another occurred at Bawa Talab, Kanachak Police registered two separate cases vide FIR Numbers 148/2022 u/s 379 IPC and 149/2022 u/s 379 IPC and initiated investigation.
During investigation, a team of Police Station Kanachak constituted by SDPO Domana Sunil Singh rounded up two suspects identified as Mohd Qasim son of Mohd Akram, resident of Dhara Fatehpur (Mandi, Poonch) and Mohd Zakir son of Rehmat Ali of Kangar Morh (Jammu), with the help of CCTV footages of the area.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the theft cases and on their disclosure stolen tyres were recovered from their possession. Further investigation of the cases was going on.
Meanwhile, Gangyal Police solved a theft case of a camera worth Rs 50,000. Acting on a written complaint lodged at Police Station Gangyal by one person namely Rajinder Langer son of B N Langer, Shankar Colony, Gangyal (Jammu) a camera and a cash amount of Rs 10,000 were stolen by somebody from his house when that he along with family members had went to market.
Accordingly, a case FIR Number 127/2022 U/S 454/380/IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started by a team constituted under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma. The Police team with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up a suspect identified as Abhi Mehra son of Satpal, resident of Shankar Colony (Gangyal).
During intensive questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the theft case and on his disclosure stolen DSLR camera worth Rs 50,000 was recovered from his possession. Further investigation of the case was going on.
