JAMMU, May 20: Gangyal Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen motorcycle from his possession.
As per police sources, on April 30 this year a complaint was lodged by a person namely Rahul Singh, son of Mangal Singh, a resident of Markoli District Samba with Police Station Gangyal stating that some unidentified persons have stolen his motorcycle.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 47/2022 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
During the course of the investigation, a team from Police Station Gangyal led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma put in hectic efforts and finally nabbed the thief.
The accused was identified as Naresh Kumar, son of Babu Ram of Lakharer District Jammu.
On his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle was recovered.
Further questioning of the arrested person is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
