LEH, Aug 27: Governor N N Vohra visited the Headquarters of 14 Corps here today.
Lt. Gen. Rakesh Sharma, GOC 14 Corps, gave an extensive briefing to the Governor about the overall security environment in the very large area of his responsibility, particularly focusing on issues relating to security management in regard to both the LoC and LAC.
The Governor discussed with the Corps Commander certain recent incidents along the LoC, in a sector which was normally quiet, and stressed the vital importance of eternal vigil on the frontiers.
Mr Vohra complimented Lt. Gen. Sharma and all the officers and men of his Corps for the devotion and high commitment with which they were protecting the territorial integrity of this vast region. He thanked the GOC and his Command for the prompt help and support provided to the people at large, during emergencies of all kinds.
