CEOs Srinagar, Baramulla attached

SRINAGAR, Aug 27:  Government today attached Chief Education Officers of Srinagar and Baramulla for violating the transfer norms set by the Government under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA).
Sources said that both the CEOs’ had transferred several Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers from one zone to another in violation of the rules under verbal directions of some Ministers.
Government today ordered attachment of CEO Srinagar Nazir Ahmad Khan and CEO Baramulla Abdul Rouf with the Directorate Education Kashmir, till further orders.
Sources said that the transfer of the ReTs surfaced two months ago and during a meeting at the Director’s office in Srinagar the two CEOs were asked to explain their position in one day.
However, CEO Srinagar in his explanation said that he had transferred few ReT for the benefit of the students as these ReTs were subject experts. But, he too was attached.
Sources said that the CEO Baramulla had violated the norms at the verbal directions of some of the Ministers. He had transferred ReT’s, attached teachers at their choice and transferred contractual.
These CEO had also deployed some teachers from one school to other against the Government’s recent directions under which all the deployments were cancelled.
The Government has given the Principal DIET Srinagar Munshi Mohammad Javid additional charge of CEO Srinagar and Principal DIET Sopore Ashok Kumar has been given additional charge of CEO Baramulla.
