Claim of foreign investment bogus propaganda: Soz

SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Former Union Minister and veteran Congress leader Prof Saifuddin Soz has said that Government’s assertion that foreign investors got attracted towards investment in Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370 is just bogus propaganda.
In a press statement here today Soz said, “ It is really unfortunate that even comparatively educated persons in the Central Government indulge in unbridled propaganda on advantages that have flowed to the people of J&K after abrogation of Article 370. Nor do they cite just one example to show that investments in J&K were blocked by now-abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution of India. This attitude of Govt of India towards people of J&K is dangerously counter-productive,” he added.
“Government of India, to its disadvantage, does not take any notice of the alienation of the people of J&K that piles up in minds because of misplaced propaganda on this Article. The Article 370 was abrogated for sectarian political reasons by BJP dispensation at the Centre. Neither Minister Sitharaman, nor Piyush Goel cited any example of Article 370’s negative contribution to the development of Jammu and Kashmir. Instead, they go on repeating their views, again and again, only to prove the efficacy of the propaganda on abrogation of Article 370,” Soz said.
“The people of J&K are convinced that the action regarding the abrogation of Article 370 taken by Govt of India is a violation of the letter and spirit of the Constitution of India, besides the measure being totally illegal,” Soz added.
