BJP Kissan Morcha to hold nation-wide Andolan from next month

JAMMU, Aug 7: BJP Kissan Morcha will launch nation -wide Andolan from next month for the rights of farmers of the country. This was stated by Morcha Prabahri of the State, Mool Chand Sharma while talking to reporters here today along with state president of the Morcha Karan Singh.
He said while the Andolan will be held at state level in September it will be organized at national level in October to press for the demands of the farmers of the country who are leading a miserable life due to anti farmers policies of the UPA Government and Congress led Governments in the States.
He said that the farmers should get due remuneration of their produce as they are facing many problems due to anti farmers policies of the Government.
He said that the increasing cost of fertilizers and seeds has broken the back of farmers and they are unable to meet the expenses of farming with the result a large number of farmers are giving up the farming and switching over to other farms of business to earn their livelihood.
Mr Sharma said that though farmer is the back bone of the country but the Congress which ruled the country for maximum period failed to realize his significance and importance with the result he has lost interest in the farming.
He demanded that the seats be reserved in Agriculture Universities of the country for farmers children and the loans given under the credit cards be remitted as the farmers could not pay them due to heavy interest rate.
He also demanded in future these loans be given on one percent interest basis.
Supporting the separate Krishi budget on pattern of Railway budget, Karan Singh said that this will boost the agriculture in the country and many steps can be taken for the welfare of farmers. He said the BJP is committed to it.
He demanded opening of one Mandi in three Panchayats where the farmers can sell their produce and subsidy be given to them on fertilizers and seeds.
He also demanded opening of cold stores in towns and cities so that the farmers produce can be preserved and sold when the market is opportune.
