Srinagar, Jan 24: Police today said to have arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substances and illicit liquor from their possession.
As per police, on a specific input, a Police Party from PS Qazigund conducted a raid at a specific location in village Check Badwani Qazigund.
During checking, police said, officers were able to recover 2Kgs of Poppy Straw and 45 bottles of illicit liquor from the residential house and arrested two persons identified as Nisar Ahmad Mir son of Gh Mohmad Mir resident of Telwani Anantnag AP Badwani Qazigund and Mohamad Yaseen Malik son of Gh Ahmad Malik resident of Chek Badwani Qazigund.
“They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 12/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation is in progress.
