JAMMU, Dec 26: Theatre group ‘Natrang’ here today staged play ‘Jayaz Hatyare-Act 1’ which is a Hindi adaptation from French play ‘Les Justes’. The play has been adapted in Hindi by Deepa Sahi and Suresh Bhardwaj and was directed by Mohd. Yaseen.
Prominent among those who witnessed the play were V.K Singh, Suresh Kumar, Anil Tickoo, Sunny Dua, Vikrant Sharma, Sumeet Sharma, Sunil Soni and others.
Set in the backdrop of India of colonial times, the play narrates the story of a group of Indian ‘Inqalabi Party’ which plans to assassinate a top official of British India.
Originally, the play is based on a true story of a group of Russian Socialist-Revolutionaries who assassinated the Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich in 1905.
The artists who performed in a play were Manoj Lalotra as Onkar, Meenakshi Bhagat as Devika, Sushant Singh Charak as Vivan, Shivam Singh as Vimi and Brijesh Avtar Sharma as Sukhen.
The lights were designed by Neeraj Kant.
