JAMMU, Jun 3: NHPC Salal Power Station (690 MW) in Reasi district has informed the common people that at present water level of Chenab river is constantly increasing due to weather changes and in coming days, due to the high flow of water from the onset of monsoon, the water level of Chenab river in upstream and downstream areas of the dam can increase or decrease at any point of time from the month of June to October 2021.
A handout of NHPC stated that this is likely to cause unexpected high waves of water in the river and requested the general people and local residents to be cautious and careful and do not to go along the river Chenab and also keep the cattle away from its banks and do not try to cross the river from any unprotected place or medium as by doing so one may avoid the risk of loss to life or property.
