Purse snatching case solved within 24 hrs, accused arrested

JAMMU, Mar 3: Sainik Colony Police worked out a purse snatching case within 24 hours with the arrest of the accused.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by a lady namely Damanpreet Kour, wife of Jasmeet Singh of Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu with Police Post Sainik Colony stating that some unknown person on bike snatched her purse near Babar Chowk Sainik Colony and fled away.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 26/2021 under Section 382 IPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and hunt was launched to nab the snatcher.
During the course of investigation, a special team headed by Incharge Police Post Sainik Colony SI Rahul Dogra was constituted.
After hectic efforts and help of technical team along with CCTV camera footage of the area, the police team arrested the accused, who was identified as Mohammad Saleem, son of Mohammad Munshi of Kalani Tibba Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu. Motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CR 9431 used in commissioning the crime was also recovered and seized.
On the disclosure of accused, all the snatched items were also recovered.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
