Token strike by JU class-IV employees enters 2nd day

JAMMU, May 15:  For the second consecutive day, Jammu University class IV employees and casual workers observed a token strike and suspended work for three hours.
Shouting slogans for their regularization and other demands, the protesting employees also held a demonstration in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office on the campus.
The protesting employees were addressed by JU Non-Gazetted Employees Union president Krishan Chand and general secretary Vijay Kumar who threatened to intensify the token strike if their demands are not conceded by the JU authorities.
They also appealed the Governor N N Vohra, who is Chancellor of the University, to intervene and issue necessary directions for regularization of the workers.
