JAMMU, May 14: Coming down heavily on the Police Department for not taking action against her husband and in-laws, Gurcharan Kour, a victim of domestic violence has urged upon the law enforcing agencies to give due and sympathetic consideration to her case.
Addressing a press conference, Gurcharan Kour alleged that she had suffered the worst form of domestic violence at the hands of her in-laws family and demanded appropriate action against them.
Married to one Pritam Singh, a businessman, Kour alleged that in 11 years of her marriage, she hardly had a day of solace as she was constantly being harassed for dowry.
Alleging physical violence on her by her in-laws, Gurcharan Kour revealed that she had approached Women Cell and also lodged an FIR in Satwari Police Station, but no action has been taken against her husband and in-laws, she alleged.
Kour has appealed to the administration to give a considerate view to her plight and ensure that justice be meted out to her.
