Scam of spurious medicines

Sir,
With reference to the news item 60,000 spurious tablets–in the news paper dated 23-4-2013, day in and day out we come to know through newspapers and other media about various scams taking place in various departments, they be pertaining to backdoor appointments, corruption changes to the tune of crores of rupees, use of below standard material used in buildings, roads and bridges etc etc. But the present scam of spurious medicines is really quite alarming and dangerous for the lives of people in  general and that of patients in particular. Such persons play with the lives of people. The other scams involving monetary losses may also be of serious  nature because they involve the hard earned money of the people but this kind of scam of supplying of spurious medicines is quite alarming as it deals with the very existence of man. It is because of these medicines that the number of fatal diseases is on the increase such as cancer etc. That a man can stoop down so low is beyong imagination but he does all this for pecuniary benefits. Such people should be dealt with severely and the hardest kind of punishment given to them. The Govt is spending huge amounts of money for medical care but of what avail if there are demons and anti social elements to thwart all the efforts of Govt to eradicate the diseases unless and until such people adopt the right path, their shameful activities will not get reduced. May good sense prevail on them.
Yours etc….
