RAMBAN, Nov 29: The movement of vehicular traffic on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH) remained suspended for over three hours in Ramban sector due to land slides this afternoon.
Official sources said that due to sudden land slides at Morh Ghori, about a few kilometers away from Ramban town towards Banihal road at around 3 pm today, the movement of traffic was suspended. A large number of vehicles were stranded on the highway for about three hours till the road was cleared by the National Highway authorities at around 7 pm.
Sources said that the weather was fair today but road widening work was going on in the area. This resulted into the fresh land slides. The machines of the NHAI and contracting agency removed the debris and restored traffic on the busy highway.
