3 bookies arrested

JAMMU, Nov 29: Police arrested three bookies.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station and Digiana Police Post conducted raid and apprehended three persons, who were found involved in carrying out illegal betting during cricket matches.
The arrested persons were identified as Amit Gupta, son of Vijay Kumar Gupta of Channi Himmat, District Jammu, Varinder Kumar, son of late Kartar Chand of Poonch House Colony, Talab Tillo, District Jammu and Anshul Anand, son of Indu Bhushan of Shastri Nagar, District Jammu.
Police team also seized 10 mobile phones, 2 laptops, 1 printer, Rs 4,67,500 cash and many electronic materials from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 200/2020 under Sections 420 and 120-B IPC and 3/4 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started to ascertain the names of other persons involved in this illegal trade.
