JAMMU, Apr 5:
Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul, today said 939 questions, 50 notices and 17 Bills were discussed in the current session of the Assembly.
“During 27 days of the session, 1009 questions were received which includes 531 starred and 478 un-starred out of which 939 questions were also admitted and listed in the House,” Mr Gul informed House on the last day of the Assembly here.
The Speaker said two short notices received and two disallowed while as 380 supplementary questions were taken in Question Hour besides three deferred questions were also taken adding that 161 public important issues have been raised during zero hour.
He said that out of 17 Government Bills, 16 were introduced, 13 were passed and two were referred to Select Committee adding, “out of 38 Private Member’s Bills received, six were introduced. Similarly out of 80 Calling Attention Notices 50 were taken up and five were disallowed”.
Besides, he said out of 73 resolutions 53 were admitted, 14 were balloted for being taken up in the House, one was adopted, four were taken up in the House and 20 were disallowed.
“Total 1977 cut motions were received out of which 873 were listed and 104 were disallowed and similarly 15 papers were tabled in the House and 10 reports were presented in the House,” he added.
The Speaker however, thanked the members for giving full support for smooth conduct of current budget session.
Meanwhile Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather while congratulating the Speaker for conducting the smooth Budget Session, said that every member has been given chance to took part in the day to day business of the House.
He also termed the boycott of Peoples Democratic Party in budget session an ‘unfortunate’. (AGENCIES)
