9 teachers suspended

POONCH, May 20: Nine teachers in the district were suspended today by the Government for remaining absent from their duties and non-maintenance of their records.
Chief Education Officer (CEO), Lal Hussain, today sent a team of officials to conduct surprise visit of various schools to ensure punctuality and work culture of the schools in border district of Poonch, an Education Department officer said.
During the visit, the team found Bodh Raj, senior teacher at Government Primary School (GPS) Nari Tanda, teacher Rakesh Thappa (GPS Nari Tanda), Farooq Ahmed, Mumtaz Ahmed, Jahangir Alam and Ruqla Bi (all teachers) and Master Mohmmad Aslam, absent from duty, he said, adding, two other teachers, Mohammad Arif and Hamida Begum, had not maintained records of attendance and mid-day meals properly.
Taking serious view of the above, JCEO ordered their suspension, he said. Similarly, CEO also ordered a chargesheet against nine teachers and Class-IV employees for dereliction of duty and also stopped their wages, the officer added.
