9 bovine animals rescued, 3 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, June 2: Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling at Majalta and Tikri thus rescuing nine animals and arresting three smugglers.
Based on an information regarding illegal transportation of bovine animals, Police party of Police Post Tikri,  under the supervision of Kulbir Handa,  Dy.SP Hqrs  Udhampur,  intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration number  JK02BL- 7986.
During search of the said vehicles, six bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this Tata Mobile, being driven by Mohd Saleem of Talab Tillo. Police rescued the animals and arrested the accused driver while the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR number 67/2018 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
In Another case, Police party of Police Station Majalta laid a naka at Battal Morh and intercepted two persons along with three bovine animals who were on way from Samba towards Kashmir without permission. All the three bovine animals were rescued on the spot and the accused smuggler namely Gopal Chand son of Dina Nath of Sunetar and Tariq Hussain son of Fareed Ahmed of Duddar Nallah, Udhampur were arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case under FIR number 40/2018 U/S 188/RPC has been registered at Police Station Majalta.
