JAMMU, June 25: Eighty-five violators were challaned under special drive to check MV Act violation in Sub Division Akhnoor.
As per police sources, a special drive was launched by SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial in Sub Division Akhnoor regarding awareness of Motor Vehicle Rules and Regulations.
Various check points were established at different places in Akhnoor, Khour, Gharota, Chowki-Choura, Jourian, Pallanwala, Pargwal and other locations where police briefed the public on the importance of MV Rules and Regulations such as wearing of helmet, insurance, etc.
Eighty-five violators were challaned under various provisions of MV Act.
Moreover, police also appealed to the parents to not allow driving to their kids until the attainment of legal age and without proper documents and helmet so that the fatality rate in accidents can be brought down.
