8 jawans, 6 tourists among 35 test COVID +ve in Ladakh

J&K reports 104 new cases

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Dec 29: Jammu and Kashmir today reported 104 COVID positive cases while the Union Territory of Ladakh recorded 35 fresh cases including eight soldiers and six tourists.
Among 35 fresh COVID positive cases in Ladakh, 32 were recorded in Leh district and three in Kargil.
Out of 32 positives in Leh district, six were tourists, six Army personnel, two jawans of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and three labourers.
Ladakh now has 214 active positive cases including 159 in Leh district and 55 in Kargil district.
Corona count in Ladakh has gone up to 22140. Of them, 21707 have recovered while there were 219 casualties—161 in Leh and 58 in Kargil district.
Out of 104 cases in Jammu and Kashmir, 65 were reported in Kashmir division and 39 in Jammu.
Among 39 cases, Jammu district recorded 22 followed by Doda eight, Poonch, Samba and Udhampur two each and Rajouri, Kathua and Ramban districts one each.
Rest of the districts didn’t report any cases today.
As against 39 cases, 21 recovered from the virus leaving number of active positive cases in Jammu region to 365.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 65 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 33 from Srinagar, 12 from Baramulla, 4 from Budgam, 3 from Pulwama, 2 from Kupwara, 2 from Bandipora, 8 from Ganderbal and 1 from Kulgam.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 214,883 including 211,644 recoveries and 2,328 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,276 including 911 from Kashmir division.
With 124 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 335,227 which is 98.30 percent of the total cases.
