8 injured in road mishap

MENDHAR, Sept 16: Eight persons were injured when a van, they were travelling in, skidded off the road and turned turtle at Mendhar town of Poonch district, here today.
Police said that the Echo car without registration number was on way from Darana village to Mendhar bus stand when it skidded off the road in-front of Government Degree College Mendhar. With the help of Police, some students and NCC cadets of the degree college rescued the injured persons and shifted them to hospital.

The injured were identified as Shabir Ahmed (40), son of Talib Hussain, Mohd Nazarat (35), son of Jamil Din, Ghulam Ahmed (40), son of Nazeer Hussain, Saima Kousar (17), daughter of Mohd Sarfraz, Shahien Akhter, wife of Sarfraz Ahmed ( all are residents of Dharana village ) and Mohd Imran (8), son of Abdul Rehman 8, Mohd Sadeeq (80), son of Saib Din ( both residents of Chajjla village of Mendhar Sub division Poonch District).
All the injured are under treatment at Sub District Hospital Mendhar. Three among them have suffered multiple injuries and need specialised treatment, said BMO Mendhar Dr Parvaiz Khan.
