8 bovines seized in Mahore area

JAMMU, May 27: Continuing special drive against the bovine smugglers under ‘Operation Dhenu’, the Reasi police foiled bovine smuggling attempt at Mahore and rescued eight milch animals.
Reports said an information was received at Police Station Mahore that some bovine smugglers have carried bovine animals on-foot from Angralla towards Kashmir for selling purpose. Soon after the receipt of the information, the police party reached the spot and bovine smugglers namely Abrar Hussain, son of Mohd Shafi hailing from Angrala and Shamas Din, son of Jamal Din, resident of Lar, Tehsil Mahore in district Reasi, who were found carrying eight bovine animals without any valid permission of the concerned authority, were aprehended by the Police party.
On this, a case FIR No. 28/2024 U/S 188 IPC 11 1(A) PC Act stands registered at Police Station Mahore and investigation initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages.
Mohit Sharma, SSP Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with bovine smugglers and will leave no stone unturned to curb this menace in the area.
