UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: Udhampur Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued eight numbers of cattle besides arresting a smuggler.
Reports said that a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur Raghubir Singh, under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarter Sahil Mahajan, intercepted a Mahindra Pick vehicle bearing registration number JK14H-3223 in which four bovine animals were being smuggled.
Police rescued the animals and arrested driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Mohd Azad, son of Mohd Ayub, resident of Khari Ladae Udhampur . A case FIR number .444 U/s 188 IPC 11PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
In another success, same Police team rescued four more bovine animals from a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BU-1848 even as driver managed to escape. Case FIR number 443, under section 188 IPC 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection.
