7 year old brutally murdered

JAMMU, Dec 17: In a gruesome act, some unidentified miscreants murdered a 7 years old boy by slitting his throat, gouging out his eye and trying to chop off his hands at village Khandwal in Chatha area under the jurisdiction of Satwari police station last night.
Police have identified the victim as Akhil Kumar alias Pinky son of Romesh Kumar R/o Khandwal, Chatha. He was studying in second class.
Police said the boy had gone for tuition last evening. He had last taken ‘Momos’ with one of his relatives in the evening and since then was untraced. After searches, Akhil’s family lodged a missing report with police at 3 am today.
His body was recovered hidden between a bundle of crops at village Khandwal at 3 pm today.
Senior police officers rushed to the spot. Police said the boy had been brutally murdered. His throat had been slit, one eye gouged out and an attempt made to chop off his hands.
The body was shifted to Government Medical College, Jammu after spot examination by police and Forensic experts. The post-mortem would be conducted tomorrow morning by a board of doctors.
Police said it was a blind murder as family of the boy had no enmity with anyone. His father Romesh Kumar is a tailor master in the village.
They added that efforts were being made to identify and arrest the accused. A murder case has been registered at Satwari police station.
