7 held for raising pro-Pak slogans

KISHTWAR, July 18: Seven persons including Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teacher were arrested for raising pro-Pakistan slogans after Eid prayers here today.
According to SSP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas, seven youth including ReT teacher have been arrested who were involved in raising slogans of Pakistan after Eid prayers.
He added that the miscreants tried to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the region following which action was initiated.
Mr Manhas said seven people were identified by the police and taken into custody and later arrested for provoking people for anti-national activities.
“The persons have been identified as ReT teacher Abdul Gani, Imran Bhat, Bilal Ahmed, Sajid Hussain, Raj Mohammad, Mudassir Ahmed and Aqib Rasool. More arrests are on cards”, he added.
He said that the situation in the town was by and large peaceful as the trouble makers have been put behind the bars.
A case under FIR number 119/15 has been registered at Kishtwar police station and investigation started, SSP stated.
He asserted that the drive against persons raising anti-Indian slogans will continue and action will be initiated accordingly, who will be found guilty.
