UDHAMPUR, May 18: Udhampur Police today arrested an inter-State narcotic smuggler and seized 69 Kg of contraband substance (poppy straw) from his possession
According to SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey, the contraband was being smuggled in a truck bearing registration number PB11F- 8307, which was intercepted during naka checking at Jakhani by a Police party, led by SHP Udhampur, Insp Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Dr Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs Udhampur and Rajinder Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur.
Police seized the poppy straw and arrested the truck driver, identified as Rajesh Kumar son of Ajmer Singh of Haryana.
In this connection, case FIR number. 232/19 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
