69 employees suspended for remaining absent in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: About seventy Government employees were suspended today for unauthorised abstention from their duties in the Kashmir Valley, officials said here.

They said, following complaints that the Government employees were not attending to their duties due to which general public was suffering, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sumbal in Bandipora conducted a surprise check of different Government Departments.

During checking, 47 employees were found absent who were later suspended and an inquiry has been ordered against them.

In a similar surprise visit to District Fund office in Pulwama, 22 employees were found absent from their duties. All the absentees were suspended, they said. (AGENCIES)
