JAMMU, June 23: All J&K Shri Sadguru Kabir Sabha today celebrated 621st Prakash Utsav (Kabir Jayanti) at its head-quarter i.e Kabir Bhawan, Chak-Avtara, Bishnah with great zest and fervor.
The function was largely attended by the devotees/followers of Sant Kabir from different parts of the State. A spiritual discourse was delivered by Mahant Ram Milan from Kabir Math, Utter Pradesh, Baba Dina Nath Ji (from Punjab) and Joginder Singh on the ‘Bani’ of saints with special reference to Kabir Bani.
President of All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha, FC Bhagat, while addressing the gathering, said that Kabir Das was the first Indian saint who has coordinated between different religions and gave a universal path which could be followed by all. He said where there is truth, no religion is required because truth itself is a great religion.
Bhagat also appealed to the Bhagat/Kabir Panthi Samaj that this day shall be celebrated as a beginning of the social revolution in India because the philosophy of Kabir is irrespective of any religion, caste or creed and it is based on equality amongst all. Kabir fought his life against social discrimination and advocated that all human on this earth are equal. He advised his followers to give up such inhuman practices as untouchability, feelings of high and low etc.
The Sabha honoured the students of Bhagat community who secured more than 85% marks in academics and those who got selected in recent Civil Service Examination, KAS, MBBS and other allied services. The Sabha also felicitated the elected Sarpanch/Panch and Corporators of the community and appealed them to work for the welfare of the public at large.
Among others who spoke on the occasion were Mula Ram (chairman), Prof Garu Ram (Ex-MLA), GR Bhagat (IAS Retired), JL Bhagat (ex-president), Prof Ashok Bhagat (vice president), Yash Pal (vice-president), Chaman Lal, Dr Gurdass Ram (Chairman Litigation Committee), Manohar Lal and many others.
At the end, Guru Ka Langar was served to the devotees.
Meanwhile, All Jammu and Kashmir Sadguru Kabir Sabha Branch Old Janipur, Jammu also celebrated 621st Birth Anniversary of Shiromani Sadguru Kabir Ji Maharaj at Sant Kabir Temple.
