SRINAGAR : Sixty-one new guests from Pakistan-occupied- Kashmir (PoK) arrived here to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their relatives, separated in 1947.
However, for the second week, no Kashmiri crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC), official sources said here today.
They said 13 returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on LoC in Uri sector after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot.
They said 61 PoK residents, highest in 2013, arrived here to celebrate the Eid festival with their relatives separated in 1947 during partition.
They included 26 women and ten children, they added.
However, two Kashmiris, who had gone to PK in previous weeks, also returned to their homes in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of PoK since April 7, 2005 when Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh flagged off first bus from here.
Sources said for the second week, no Kashmiri went to PoK in the weekly bus.
However, 11 PoK residents also returned to their homes after completing stay in Kashmir. They included four women and as many children.
So far in 2013, 565 PoK guests have visited the Kashmir valley while only 183 Kashmiris had gone to other side of the LoC so far.
The number of PoK guests increases during summer while it declines during winter.
Similarly, the number of Kashmiris going to PoK increases during winter and decreases during summer. (AGENCIES)
