POONCH, Aug 20: Over 600 pilgrims from J&K and outside the State, paid obeisance at Shri Budha Amarnath ji temple at Mandi in district Poonch today.
It was the first batch of this annual pilgrimage comprising yatris mostly from Gujarat, which performed darshan at the shrine today morning. They started from Poonch city in the morning and left for Mandi, about 22 kms from here. The district administration has taken affective security measures for the smooth conduct yatra. These pilgrims took night halt in Poonch city and were accommodated in Govt Degree College, Govt Higher Secondary School, Akhara building last night.
At Mandi, the yatra was received by ASP Poonch Amit Gupta, Yatra officer V K Bhalla and members of the Yatra Management Committee. After performing darshan, they left for Jammu.
Meanwhile, second batch of 1200 yatris from Jammu reached here this evening. They will leave for Shri Budha Amarnarth ji shrine tomorrow morning.
