JAMMU, Aug 26: Narwal police under Operation Sanjeevani seized 60 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, based on specific inputs, a team from Narwal Police Post raised a checking point and signaled a truck bearing registration number JK03C-6450 for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted the vehicle.
During checking, police seized 60 kilograms of poppy straw from the truck, while the driver managed to give a slip.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and hunt has been launched to arrest the accused.
Police team led by Incharge Narwal Police Post SI Vikram Singh Manhas seized the consignment under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Bharat Sharma, SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
