6 Tippers involved in illegal mining seized

RAJOURI, Jan 14: Taking note of illegal mining from river bed using heavy machinery, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in association with Geology and Mining department have seized half a dozen vehicles in last two days in Rajouri area.
Police said that there were reports of illegal mining with heavy machinery in various parts of the district after which teams were constituted which laid surprise nakas and raided several locations of river and seized vehicles involved in illegal mining.
Police added that on Tuesday evening, a team of police headed by SI Ashish Chowdhary of Police Post Chingus seized three dumpers JK11C -4120, JK11A -1893 and JK02AV -6223 for illegal mining in Chingus Kallar area.
Similarly, on Monday evening, three tippers JK02AP – 7121, JK11C -3543, JK11- 6397 were seized for illegal mining whereas, around one dozen more vehicles have also been seized for illegal mining in last one week. The Police said that stern action as per law is being taken against those involved in illegal mining.
