JAMMU, Sept 9: 570 rural children including 80% girls received scholarship from Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) during the nine days camp, which concluded today.
Children who received scholarship were from Government schools of Akalpur, Arnia, Bishnah, Kangrail, Marjali, Chadwal, Chakrohi, Dansal, Doomi, Goapar, Gajansoo, Ghou Manhasan, Gurah Brahmana, Gura Slathia, Hiranagar, Jourian, Jerda, Kanachak, RS Pura, Nagrota, Rattian, Ranjari, Rahein, Samba, Saruinsar, Satrayan, etc.
Sudhir Nanda, Director, Nitco Logistics (P) Ltd was the chief guest on the valedictory function of the camp. While lauding the noble efforts of the Trust in helping the cause of education and empowering woman, the chief guest told the students about the benefits of education and advised them to make full use of scholarship and support of the Trust.
The Managing Trustee briefed the gathering about the scholarship, mentorship and medical support programmes run by the Trust to provide all kind of support to the poor and needy children belong to weaker sections of the society.
HBET was established in 1997 with the mission to change lives of needy children through literacy support programmes.
