57 bovines being smuggled to Kashmir rescued; 4 nabbed

RAJOURI, Sept 3: The Police today foiled four major bovine smuggling attempts to Kashmir via Mughal Road from Taryath and Dharamsal area of Rajouri and rescued 57 cattle besides making arrest of four persons.
Official sources said that police received information that some smugglers have been seen moving towards forest area in Methyani and nearby areas along with animals after which police teams from Dharamsal Police Station and Taryath Police Post headed by SHO Dharamsal Karan Chalotra under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Khaliq Hussain rushed to the spot.
During searches, four bovine smugglers were arrested and total 57 bovine animals were rescued from their clutches.
Smugglers included- Mohd Qasim, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Panjnara Keri; Talib Hussain, son of Abdul, resident of Narla; Mohd Iqbal, son of Mohd Shafi and Mohd Bashir, son of Jamal Din, both residents of Khore Bani, Khawas.
These bovines were rescued and smugglers arrested from Mathyani Gala, Hari Chuma and Dahergalla. It was learnt during their questioning that these smugglers had to load these cattle in some vehicles for further transportation to Kashmir via Mughal Road.
In this connection, three different FIR’s No. 86, 87 and 88/2018 U/S 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Dharamsal and investigation taken up.
