UDHAMPUR, Nov 8: Continuing its drive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs/ psychotropic substances under the directions of SSP Udhampur, Rajiv Pandey, Police today seized 55.76 Kg of poppy straw from a truck at Motor Shed Naka, NHW, Chenani.
The truck bearing registration number PB 10DM- 4717 was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, Insp Paramjeet Singh, under the supervision of Santokh Raj Deol, SDPO Chenani and Rajinder Singh Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur.
During thorough search, 55.76 kg poppy straw was recovered from the truck, being driven by Darshan Pal , son of Jeet Ram of Jodhibal, Ludhiana, who was arrested on the spot. Police also seized the recovered poppy straw as well as the truck.
In this connection, a case FIR number 116/19 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Chenani and further investigation of the case is going on.
