NEW DELHI: After impressing television viewers with shows like ‘Left Right Left’ and ‘Miley Jab Ham Tum’ , TV actor Arjun Bijlani will essay role of a diehard romantic in his new thriller show ‘Ishq Mein Mar Jawan’ , to be aired on Colors Diwali.
Talking, Arjun who was in the national capital to promote his upcoming show, said doing the show helped him to get out of his comfort zone. Speaking about his character, Arjun, who was accompanied by his co-star Aalisha Panwar said,”my character’s name is Deep Raichand who is a very rich, good looking, shrewd businessman and owns a tea estate.
He is very manipulative and whatever he desires for, he achieves it. At the same time, he is also a die-hard romantic and romances in a very different and mature way.
Deep falls in an unconditional love and show is about what this love makes him do. As the story unfolds, different layers of Deep is shown to the audience.”
”The show is very different in terms of storyline. I have got out of my comfort zone and am doing such a different role for the first time,” he said. Asked whether there is any similarity in the storyline with ‘Beyhadh’, the ‘Naagin’ fame actor said,”Of course not.
If we draw similarity between two shows then there will be some similarities and some differences. But what we are going to show through ‘Ishq Mein Mar Jawan’ is really shocking and surprising which the audience will realise after watching 10-15 episodes.”
Talking about his journey on the small screen and which show he considers to be the turning point of his life, the 34-year-old actor said, “every phase of life was different. So when ‘Left Right Left’ happened that was the first turning point of my life.
After that I did a youth based show ‘Miley Jab Ham Tum’ in which I played a lover boy and that was also a complete turning point of my career. Then again the absolute career changing thing is ‘Naagin’ obviously and ‘Meri Ashiqui’.
I guess at each stage God has blessed me with good shows in which I could make a difference and people remember me and its a great feeling.” Asked whether he is open to bold web content, Arjun said,”I would love to do web series.
They are coming up with amazing concepts and it takes a lot of guts to do those kind of shows. I think web-series is the next big thing that will be in the market.”
On whether he felt that TV actors perform better on big screens, Arjun said,”Of course they do. TV actors are very hard working. We shoot everyday for hours and hours and that’s why they are doing movies and web series and are successful.
I think the distinction between a TV actor and film actor has been blurred now. An actor is an actor and the medium will keep on changing.” Asked about his plans for Bollywood, the actor said,”I have plans but I am waiting for the right script.”
‘Ishq Mein Mar Jawan’, which will have Aalisha Panwar as the main lead, is a thriller slash revenge story. The show will have Aalisha Panwar play the double role of twin sisters. Arjun Bijlani plays the main lead in the show.
Others in the cast include Arjun Aneja, Mihir Mishra and Tuhinaa Vora in important roles. ‘Ishq Mein Mar Jawan’ has been produced by Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik, under Beyond Dreams Entertainment. The show will take the evening slot on Colors around Diwali. (AGENCIES)
